Square Offers Flat Rate To Small Businesses
An innovative new flat monthly fee of $275 was announced today by Square for small businesses that process less than $250,000 per year, with transactions of up to $400 in value. “For 62 years, merchants have suffered complicated, expensive processing fees. Square is the first company to rethink electronic payment pricing with the merchant in mind. PayPal & McDonald’s Testing Mobile Payments In France
It appears that the competition between PayPal and Square may be heating up as McDonald’s recently launched a mobile payments service test featuring PayPal at 30 locations in France. At the Orlando franchisee conference earlier this year, McDonald’s demo’d a similar mobile PayPal solution, hinting that it was among new technology that could be launched within the next 24 months. PayPal, owned by eBay Inc., has already signed up at least 15 major retailers to accept PayPal payments in their stores. EESPA Seeks To Improve E-Invoicing Image in Europe
EESPA announced at their first annual meeting December 13 2011 that a key goal of the newly formed group would be to raise the profile of electronic invoicing throughout Europe. The newly formed European e-Invoicing Service Providers Association (EESPA) is a new trade association for the e-invoicing industry and currently includes more than 30 service providers including Accelya France, Anachron, Atos Worldline, Basware, Bottomline Technologies, Crossgate, Fundtech, GXS, Itella,Nordea Bank, OB10, SIX Paynet, Tieto and Tradeshift. EESPA member Esa Tihilä of Basware Corporation was elected first Chair of EESPA , and Charles Bryant of OB10 shall serve as Vice-Chair, in addition to 9 Executive Committee members, picked from other European e-invoicing companies.
