The new service will let consumers pay US billers, including utility bills, mortgage or car payments, credit cards and cable bills via the PayToo account even while traveling abroad or don’t have a US based bank account. EWeek.com Reports Google Wallet Launch Gaining Ground
EWeek.com reports that Google’s Wallet is gaining ground in the app wars, thanks to new support from AmEX, Discover, and Visa. Although Google launched Wallet Q3 of 2011, take up has been slow, but these recent advances seem to be boosting it’s popularity. Groupon The Payment Processor?
Bloomberg’s Douglas MacMillan reports that Groupon is entering the payment processing business with a mobile reader comparable to those already on the market from Square and PayPal. The company behind the project has already developed credit card readers for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch, and apparently is already testing the Groupon prototype across several retailers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Western Union, one of the leading international payments companies, have recently teamed up with Roshan in Afghanistan. Roshan is the largest communications provider in Afghanistan’s with almost 6 million subscribers. Zynga Announces Zombie Swipeout For Smartphones
Zynga, the social gaming platform, recently announced news about its upcoming new game called “Zombie Swipeout” for smartphone users. As part of the launch, paid actors, posing as zombies, have been ‘ghouling’ the streets, offering “blood drops” (popsicles promising the “fleshiest” ingredients) as incentives for the new game.
